Windows 10 Creators Update and problem with support for older Intel Atom processors

Microsoft advises not to update the Clover Trail chip owners. For a few days, all of you can install the Creators Update for Windows 10 yourself. Not everyone, however, should decide on such a step, because they may have a lot of problems running your computer. This applies mainly to people who use equipment with older Intel Atom chips.

The information provided by Microsoft shows that the Clover Trail family is not officially supported by the Creators Update for Windows 10. If our hardware uses such a processor, Microsoft strongly recommends not installing the upgrade. On the list of unsupported chips we will find models: Atom Z2760, Atom Z2520, Atom Z2560 and Atom Z250.

The company states that an update may cause the appearance of a mass of errors. Examples include driver problems, lack of icons and text, or displaying them with distortions and even the ability to hang up. The Redmond company says it is currently working with hardware makers to develop compatible drivers. However, it is not clear when drivers can be made available to all interested.

If we have equipment with the above mentioned processors and have already installed the update Creators Update, Microsoft is advised to use the recovery option in Windows 10 and return to the previous build.
