The manufacturer claims that the new media will provide a data transfer rate of 515 MB / s. This value can be achieved by using the USB Type C interface. Stored files are encrypted with AES-256 encryption. The My Passport SSD model starts at US $ 100 for 256 GB and ends at $ 400 for 1024 GB. The 512 GB version costs $ 200.
Available on the official Western Digital website, the software will allow you to make automatic backups of even larger files directly in Dropbox or on the media. My Passport SSD is also compatible with Apple Time Machine (after formatting).
