The FBI director advises to cover webcams

James Comey, managing director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, suggests that all cameras lined up on laptops. Such a remarkable suggestion was made during the conference held at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

A few months ago, a photo of Marek Zuckerberg was circulating around the world, where the Internet users noticed something very strange. A webcam and a microphone were taped onto a computer owned by Facebook, indicating that the billionaire is well aware of the threat of hackers who can easily eavesdrop on and view users.

Contrary to appearances, this is a very common phenomenon, as there are special pages where hackers, for a reasonable fee, offer access to millions of cameras from around the world, allowing people to watch through computers, electronic nanny, smart tvs, etc.

The FBI Director James Comey is well aware of the danger, and during a conference at the Center for Strategic and International Studies he has suggested that all laptop owners follow Zuckerberg’s footsteps and also protect their webcams so they protect their privacy.
