We go to a higher level. SK Hynix announced that the first high-performance graphics cards with GDDR6 memory chips on the market will appear early next year.
What SK Hynix graphics cards can say? The first thing that comes to mind is the Nvidia Volt processors. In its SK Hynix press release, it clearly outlines the 384-bit RAM interface and 768 GB / s bandwidth (comparable GDDR5X configuration is max. 548 GB / s). This type of interface seems to fit directly into high-performance GeForce cards. It’s just speculation. It is worth noting that it may not be a consumer card, and professional.
The new type of memory is expected to replace the GDDR5 and GDDR5X graphics cards, providing significantly higher throughput (up to 16 Gb / s) at lower power supplies. SK Hynix’s announcement seems to confirm that the GDDR6 chips in the finished products will be seen faster than we could have anticipated.
