Chinese Vivo X5 Pro is the world’s first smartphone with an iris scanner, but certainly not the only one. Similar plans for their products are Samsung and LG, which intend to use this technology in the latest products Galaxy S7 and G5.
User authentication systems have traditionally been based on ordinary passwords, and then there are biometric technologies that recognize the fingerprint owner. These types of solutions, however, are very unreliable, so slowly start to apply iris scanners. The first device available with this system is the Chinese Vivo X5 Pro, another Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G, but other companies are also planning to follow in this direction.
According to South Korean sources, Samsung and LG are planning to launch smartphones with iris scanning technology in the near future. It is said that new products could appear in commercial products early next year. So you can not exclude that these solutions will be in the Galaxy S7 and LG G5, the latest flagships of both companies.
For now, they are, of course, only gossip, but in the case of Samsung quite likely. Even before the launch of the Galaxy S5, it was mentioned that the manufacturer could equip it with similar technology. When it turned out that did not happen, similar reports began to appear on the Galaxy Note 4.
