In the big cities, the smallest cars are the best, which is easier to navigate in traffic jams and find a parking place. Electra Meccanica has developed a vehicle called Solo, which can replace the currently used compact cars in the future.
In the case of Solo, the word “car” is not the proper designation of this design, as it is not a real car, but rather something like a scooter, which in addition is intended only for one person. Although the front looks like a typical car, so it has standard headlights, mirrors, as well as a small passenger cabin, it only moves on three wheels.
Electra Meccanica believes that Solo will be the ideal means of transportation in the future, which will bring us to work and bring home, and occasionally will allow you to go for a little shopping and will not occupy the parking lot too much space.
The vehicle is also extremely light, as its weight is only 450 kg, but the dimensions are 3.04 m long and 1.21 m wide. Solo is not only light and small, but also economical. That’s why it’s equipped with an 82 hp electric power and 190 Nm of torque which spins from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 8 seconds and a top speed of 120 km / h.
The energy will provide a small lithium-ion battery capacity of 8.64 kWh, driving a rear-wheel motor that will drive the maximum distance of 160 km. Its recharging will take between 3 and 6 hours depending on the type of socket used.
The cockpit is moderately modern, the driver has an LCD screen that functions as a clock, and Bluetooth and USB radio. There is also a reversing camera, since visibility to the back is very limited.
