Social media has seriously changed people-to-people relationships, and nowadays many people, rather than the number of true friends, are prized by the number of friends they have on Facebook. Recent research shows, however, that they are completely useless, since most of them are simply unacceptable.
Probably not once you met people who brag about the number of friends on Facebook, and sometimes even are able to bid, who has more. Recent research shows, however, that such virtual friends will not help us in need.
A survey conducted by a representative group of people gave very interesting results. Approximately 27.6% of people said they thought they had real friends on Facebook. However, when asked whether their friends actually helped them during a social or emotional crisis, only 4.1% said yes, while 14% said they could only count on their sympathy.
