Big, fat GTX 1060. Gigabyte joins other manufacturers who announced their own GeForce GTX 1060 “9Gbps” cards, announcing the soon-to-be-released Aorus GeForce GTX 1060 Xtreme Edition.
The new card, as for the “extreme” product, already seems to be at least a slight over-hypertrophy over the content. GeForce GTX 1060 Xtreme Edition is equipped with a highly developed cooling system with two fans, which occupies 2.5 slots. On the one hand, it may be a little overdone, but on the other hand, if the card is quieter, it’s not the case.
The new design is based on the Nvidia GP106-410 processor with 1280 CUDA cores, 80 texture units and 48 ROP units. The GPU is factory overclocked – by 9.2 to 9.7%. The base clock has been increased to 1645 MHz, and the maximum frequency of the GPU Boost to 1873 MHz. On the laminate we also have 6 GB GDDR5 memory with effective frequency of 9024 MHz. With a GPU, it combines a 192-bit interface. Do not mention the LED backlight because it does not have it? No, we do not mention it, because the lack of this sparkle is worth emphasizing today. We used to do the same with glossy monitors. Over time, only the attention was paid to those that acted like monitors, not mirrors.
It is worth noting that there are two additional HDMI sockets on the laminate, VR-Link. Product price is not yet known.
