Firefox resigns from smartphones with Firefox OS

The mobile OS was supposed to be an alternative to Android and Windows Phone. Unfortunately, it will not, because Mozilla thought the experiment failed. The company has officially announced that it will no longer sell smartphones with this platform through distribution channels of telecom operators.

Only three operating systems, Android, iOS and Windows Phone, count on the smartphone market. There are a few others, but their share is so small that for many people practically imperceptible.

Among the latter was Firefox OS, a platform made available by Mozilla in 2013, primarily aimed at low-end devices for emerging markets. The system was quite flexible and offered good functionality, but it was completely unacceptable. Mozilla has announced that it is resigning from further sales of smartphones equipped with Firefox OS.
