Disney will use drones in amusement parks

While the American government is opposed to the commercial use of unmanned vehicles, Disney has plans for them and is working on technologies that will allow them to use them at shows in amusement parks.

MarketWatch has published some interesting sketches related to Disney’s patents on the use of drones as television screens and puppet animatronic puppets. Patents describe the use of a synchronized cloud of small quadrocopters or multicasters that could be used for light shows, fireworks, or balloon parades.

The first two patents describe different methods of producing a light show where small machines would carry large flexible screens, each of which would be illuminated and turn into a flying pixel producing images. Machines would detect their positions and work as one mechanism controlled by a central computer.
