AMD Radeon Pro Duo in a new version with two Polaris chips

Dual Radeon Pro WX 7100. AMD today announced a new version of its Radeon Pro Duo graphics card for professional use, including VR. This device is a great choice for people designing digital content or working with multimedia. Thanks to the large amount of memory, the hardware should also be tested on more advanced 3D models.

The first generation of Radeon Pro Duo was launched in late April 2016. At that time, the structure was powered by two Fiji chips, and each had 4 GB of HBM. The product is equipped with a liquid cooling system. The new model is in many ways different from its older brother. Still, he still uses two graphics chips.

The new Radeon Pro Duo uses two full Polaris 10 chips offering 2304 stream processors (4608 SP in total). The manufacturer states that the maximum clock frequency is 1243 MHz in this case and the peak performance is 11.45 TFLOPS (the previous Pro Duo offered 16.4 TFLOPS). Each chip has 16 GB of GDDR5 7 Gb / s, giving a bandwidth of 448 GB / s. The TDP unit has according to AMD to be up to 250 W.

The device provides three DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI 2.0b connector. The card allows you to work on four 4K 60Hz screens, it also supports 5K monitors at 60 Hz (one cable), 8K at 30 Hz (one cable) and 8K at 60 Hz (two cables). The manufacturer used a cooling system with a standard radial fan. The design requires the operation of two power plugs: 6-pin and 8-pin. The device is obviously compatible with FreeSync, CrossFire Pro and LiquidVR. The new Radeon Pro Duo will go on sale in May this year. The price of the graphics card will be $ 999, so the hardware will be $ 500 cheaper than the older edition.
