China has so far loosely referred to the issue of intellectual property, which perfectly illustrated the assortment of local online stores. Recently, the situation has changed for the better, and proof of that is the new anti-counterfeiting system introduced by Alibaba, one of the largest online stores in the world.
Alibaba Chief of Staff announced the launch of a brand new IP Joint-Force System, which aims to combat counterfeit goods sold through the store. The program is designed to better identify and remove the site, and help direct communication between shop staff and brand owners.
Companies such as Apple and Louis Vuitton, whose counterfeit products are extremely common, will receive their own account manager, as well as access to an online portal where they can quickly verify the authenticity of the products they display and then mark them for removal.
